Can you still play Backyard Monsters?
Yes. You can play Backyard Monsters again through Backyard Monsters Reborn, an independent, community-run revival with a free Windows launcher.
A new home for a familiar game
If you remember building a yard, hatching monsters and defending your resources, Reborn brings that strategy experience back through its own servers and accounts. Build defenses, raise your army and battle other players.
This is a community preservation project, not a return of the original official service. Backyard Monsters Reborn is not affiliated with or endorsed by KIXEYE. Development is ongoing, so some features and behavior may differ from the game you remember.
What do I need to play?
- A Windows computer and an internet connection.
- A free Reborn account with your own username, email and password.
- The Windows launcher from this website.
The launcher downloads the game files and handles updates. You do not need to install a Flash plug-in in your web browser.
How do I get into the game?
- Create your Reborn account.
- Download and install the Windows launcher.
- Sign in with your Reborn account, let the launcher install the game and choose Play.

Is it free?
Yes. Downloading the launcher and playing the game are free. Optional Shiny bundles and D.A.V.E. Club membership are available, but neither is required to start playing.
Can I use my old Facebook account or yard?
Reborn has its own account and save system. Your old Facebook login is not a Reborn login. Create a Reborn account to start your yard; do not expect an old official-service save to appear automatically.
Can I play in a browser, on Mac or on a phone?
The supported launcher is currently for Windows. Reborn does not currently offer a supported Android, iPhone, Mac or browser version. The website works on other devices for account management and community information, but that is different from running the game itself.
